I believe the time has come for to stop only dreaming and start believing in yourself because very soon you are going to be able to fulfill your own dreams (yes! In this lifetime! )  and I am going to show you exactly how. Seeing a smile of wonder or constant amazement and awe is something we seek in our viewers and that’s what keeps the animators going. Animation is a magical world of fantasies, which has presented itself to us in the form of a career option, and weaves magic in our lives. It is filled with a constant rythem, a beat and energetic entertaining fun and the best part is of course, that you get paid handsomely! There are so many in our world brimming with creativity pouring out from their eyes, nose and ears yet are forced to enter in the fields like science, commerce, arts etc. not of their choice. This monotonous lifestyle of working into a profession not of your liking may earn you bread for your family but in the process, have we thought what it will do to that person? Life and fun often get sucked out of this monotonous pattern and we end up loosing a part of ourselves becoming boring and lifeless in mind, body, spirit getting burn out at either out of force or no other options available. Animation is like a bollywood hero here rescuing the Poor souls from the bad guys. It has it’s roots not only in cartoons but is vastly spread out, branching out to the advertising fields , Bollywood, Hollywood, entertainment industries, corporate world, gaming etc. and thousand others offering one a stable yet constantly entertainment, energy packed job, with perks and huge sum of money.

What if your mind is not made for designing cartoons? Well my friend, that definitely is not the criteria to worry, for there are practically a thousand other jobs waiting to welcome you and which could relate to you and your creativity like becoming a creative art director or getting into VFX to name just a few. Talking about animation from the time investment and job point of view in detail , we see a very big advantage lying here…for it matches this era’s mentality of earning quick money with quick results as well less time investment in learning the skills. Anywhere between 6 to 36 months of rigorous training and presto! You are an animator….and all you need is skill, creativity and hard work in this field…gone are the days when only a degree can get you a good job. In fact, the industry presents a palate of choices to the individual where he gets to pick the job of his choice and show his expertise. Freelancing is also another good option along with learning, and earns an individual experience as well as money.

A huge number of animation agencies have opened all over the city and the jitter bug of animation is catching on inviting students with open arms. Some of these designs and animation schools and institutions strengthen the students from the core, helping them to tone up their skills and basic roots and gear them up for the real world industry. The focus given to pre-production in some classes is immensely important; it is like nurturing a animation in each student which will flower and spread with strong roots. The way buildings are constructed, creating a wireframe or blueprint, and then the concrete steel, and then the paint and accessories, similarly each student is build with these building blocks so that he/she can withstand all kinds of competition in the real world industry, any place they go.

I wonder why there are only 60,000 animators emerging each year when according to NASSCOM we will be needing over 5 lakh students by 2019.
